The Fissler Cookstar Induction Pro, like all Fissler cookware products, is made in Germany. The Cookstar Induction Pro is a portable induction cooktop that is actually more energy efficient and faster than electric cooktops. There are no hot flames to deal with and no extremely hot heating elements that can burn skin even after they are turned off. The Induction Pro boils water in less than a minute, and its 1500-watt motor and glass-ceramic surface is designed to eliminate hot spots and give you even heating for precision cooking.

Features

•The famous Cookstar base is patented and guarantees even distribution of heat without hot spots

• Three-year product guarantee

• Easy to clean ceramic glass surface

• Touch timer with audible alert function

• “Keep Warm” function keeps appetizers and sauces at a constant temperature

• Nine levels of heat are controlled by “touch” for amazing precision cooking

• Full power “booster” control enables you to quickly heat foods for 20 seconds

Induction cookers in general, are much safer than regular stoves because induction only heats the cooking vessel itself so the chance of burns (to your skin) is significantly decreased. The pot or pan sitting on the surface of the cooktop unit is definitely going to be hot, but the induction unit itself will cool down very rapidly when turned off. There are no open flames, no heating elements and the cooktop doesn’t even heat up the air surrounding the cooking area, so you save on energy there, also.

Induction cooking is fascinating as the only thing that really gets hot is the cooking pot or pan itself. That heat, in turn, is transferred to the food inside the vessel. Since induction works with magnetic forces to produce heat, you must use a pot or pan made of iron or other ferrous materials. Aluminum or glass just won’t work with an induction cooktop, as they cannot maintain a magnetic reaction. That is not a bad thing in itself. All that you need, and most kitchens have them in abundance, is steel or iron cookware.

Nothing other than the pot or pan sitting on the Fissler Cookstar Induction Pro portable cooktop will react to the electro magnetic force of the current inside the cooktop. And any heat produced is shut down immediately when the unit is turned off.
